AMA Report Supports Balanced Diet for Weight Loss

Moderate Carb Meal Plan BEST to Keep Metabolism Going for Americans whether you live in Stroudsburg, PA or Springfield, IL.

It’s so confusing to know the most efficient way to fuel your body.  In a recent study published by the Journal of the American Medical Association, the conclusion for effective calorie use may be to eat the right kinds of foods.

Along with being active and watching TOTAL Calorie Intake, when you take a balanced approach to eating, you burn the most calories each day.  The study suggest that for most, the high-carb and low-carb diet fads do not work as well as the moderate-carbohydrate plans.

According to the report, those who obtain carbohydrates from whole fruit, vegetables, beans, low-fat dairy and whole grains, not refined sources such as white breads and sugary foods, burned more calories per day than people on other plans.

The report suggests:

Eat modest portions of whole grains and starchy vegetables in their least processed form (steel-cut oats, brown rice, quinoa, hearty whole-grain breads.)

Incorporate healthy fats such as nuts, avocado, fish and olive oil

Include protein from beans, nuts, eggs, low-fat dairy, fish, poultry and lean meats.

Limit sugary drinks, candy, and sweets.
